Scope and Contents
The CCP Study Collection consists of photographic prints of various processes, photographic albums, objects, and other related materials that may be used for a variety of physical examination, evaluation, and analysis (such as laboratory analysis, technical studies, and comparative materials). This collection is accessible to staff, educators, students, visiting scholars, conservators, and others interested in the history and development of photography and its various processes. These materials are separate from the Fine Print and Archive permanent collections held at CCP, and are not displayed for exhibition. There is a wide variety of photographic materials and formats from the 19th and 20th centuries, with materials dating back to 1840. Early photographic processes are a strength of the Study Collection.
