Scope and Content Note
The Bruce Davidson collection is composed of 375 black and white photographs. These photographs have been arranged by size and location.
Box 1 contains the majority of the collection. This box contains 3x5 proof prints of photographs that were taken in England and Scotland during the 1960s.
Box 2 contains 7 oversized photographs. These photographs consist of agricultural life in an unknown location and life in New York City during the 1960s.
Box 3 contains 8x10, 8x11, and 9x12 photographs. These photographs are grouped by location or content. The dates in this box range from 1960s to 1980s.
There is also a partial inventory list of photographs that is located in Box 3. It is partial as it only includes 3/4 of the collection. The inventory list includes a thumbnail of the print with an individual identification number associated with the photograph. This identification number is also on the back of the photograph as well as Bruce Davidsons signature and in some cases, the Magnum Photo Bruce Davidson stamp.Besides the thumbnail picture, the inventory list also includes relevant information of each of the photographs.

Biographical Note
Bruce Davidson is an American photographer that worked for Life Magazine as free lance photographer, and in 1958 became a member of Magnum Photography. Prints are those that come from his studies of East 100th street in the 1960s, the 1960 Freedom Riders as well as Civil Rights during this time, England and Scotland of the 1960s, and the New York Subway in the 1980s. Also included are photographs of the corporate world during the 1980s.
