Scope and Contents
Box one contains eight issues of The Real World dating from 1973-1977; 17 issues of Contemporary Photographer from 1960-1968; four issues of Photography Annual from 1951-1954; as well as a few other random publications. Box one also contains exhibition guest books; two from the Light Gallery (1975, 1978) and one from an unknown gallery (1977). Boxes two and three hold four lithograph sets, totaling 251 prints.

Biographical Note
Stephen Shore was born in New York City in 1947. He took his earliest photo in 1953. He is self-taught in photography, and has received many grants, including two fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts (1974, 1979) and one from the Guggenheim Foundation (1975). He began exhibiting his work in 1971.

Abstract
Lithographs, books and periodicals, and guest books, bulk dates 1973–1978, relating to the career and personal collection of Stephen Shore (1947- ), photographer and editor. Includes three guest books from his exhibition openings; eight issues of The Real World which were edited by him; several issues of Contemporary Photographer and other publications;as well as over two hundred lithographs, some in color, of military scenes, American landscapes, and Russian government leaders.

Custodial History
This collection consists of gifts made by the artist to the Center for Creative Photography beginning in 1979.
Separated Materials
Over one hundred photography and general subject monographs and periodicals from Shore’s library were transferred to the Main Library at the University of Arizona and the Center for Creative Photography Library. No listing of titles transferred was compiled.
