Scope and Contents
Materials in this collection relate to Harvey Wang’s documentary film and book project, From Darkroom to Daylight, 2015. These materials include interview film footage with corresponding transcripts and release forms (both digital and paper formats); production footage including MiniDV tapes, film, and born-digital film; the final documentary film as a digital file and Blu-Ray disc; published book; and contact information for each interviewee.

Biographical Note
Harvey Wang (1956 - ) is an American photographer and filmmaker based in New York City. He has published several books of photography, and known best for his portraits and short films. Wang studied visual arts and anthropology at Purchase College, State University of New York. He has exhibited at several museums including the National Museum of American History at the Smithsonian Institution and the Museum of the City of New York. His short film about photographer Milton Rogovin won “Best Documentary Short” at the Tribeca Film Festival. Wang’s published books include Harvey Wang’s New York (1990); Flophouse: Life on the Bowery (2000); Holding On: Dreamers, Visionaries, Eccentrics and Other American Heroes (1995) and From Darkroom to Daylight (2015).
